Ratings: ‘Ghosts’ Premiere Scares Up the Most Viewers for a New Comedy This Fall
But Fox’s 2021 ”Thursday Night Football“ debut dominates primetime
CBS execs aren’t “boo”-ing over Thursday’s “Ghosts” series premiere. The sitcom’s debut landed the most total viewers, 5.341 for a new comedy series thus far this fall.
But last night belonged to Fox, which finally got its first (national) “Thursday Night Football” game of the season. The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks 26-17.

Due to the nature of live sports, the below early Nielsen numbers should be considered subject to significant adjustment. We’re only included them to show the rough gap between football and all the other primetime shows.
Fox was first in ratings with a 2.1 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 8.1 million, according to preliminary numbers.
CBS, ABC and NBC tied for second in ratings, each with a 0.5. CBS was second in total viewers with 5.1 million, ABC was third with 3.6 million and NBC was fourth with 3 million.
The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 459,000.
We do not have early Nielsen numbers for Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo.
