Rebecca White’s situation will turn dire this evening and will be left struggling to survive.
The tragic character, played by actress Emily Head, will run out of food and drink this week and begins to starve to death.
Tonight on Emmerdale, she will begin to think all hope is lost when she knocks over her last water bottle.
After being imprisoned by her serial killer nephew Lachlan, she has left alone in the shack while he went away with Belle.
This evening, Rebecca desperately tries to hammer at the chains Lachlan has imprisoned her in with a rock.
But when she hears something outside she struggles against her chains and ends up knocking over her water bottle in the process.
A weeping Rebecca begins to give up hope as she runs out of water the next day.
She slumps over, knowing that time is running out.
Asked how Rebecca gets out, actress Emily previously teased: "Well, we don’t know if she does!"
However she insisted that she wasn’t worried about her character’s potential demise.
"Because if you spoke to Louise [Marwood] when she left, the build-up to it was so exciting that’s all that mattered," she said. "I think as long as we’re telling good stories, it doesn’t matter when or how you go, as long as you enjoy the work that you’re doing."
So would she prefer Rebecca to escape and go away with Seb?
"As the person who plays Rebecca, I would like her to be happy, that’s all I’ve ever wanted for her," she replied. "In an ideal world she would escape and be with Seb forever and watch him grow up into a man nothing like his cousin!"
*Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV
