Richard Madden returns as Bodyguard character David Budd for Comic Relief

The 32-year-old actor is on a mission as David Budd to protect Red Nose – and raise money for Comic Relief.

Fans hoping for a second series of the BBC drama will be delighted to see the Game of Thrones star slipping into his suit for charity.

The BBC shared a photo from set that showed Madden, who won a Golden Globe and NTA for the role, communicating with security services through his trusty red nose badge.

Comic Relief viewers will also be treated to a Four Weddings and a Funeral Comic Relief Sequel, featuring original cast members Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Anna Chancellor and Rowan Atkinson.

Meanwhile, Madden's co-star Keeley Hawes said she'd "love" to see Madden play secret service agent James Bond after rumours he was next in line swirled.

She said: "I would love to see Richard playing James Bond, I would love that. I think he would be phenomenal."

However, Bond producers are not considering him for the role.

Though the star has been tipped to take over playing the suave super spy when Daniel Craig quits the franchise, sources close to the production team insisted he is not even being considered right now as executive producer Barbara Broccoli is "loyal to Daniel".

A source told The Sun that Broccoli insisted that she has not even drawn up a shortlist of potential Bonds as she "feels that hunting for a replacement while he is in the job would be disrespectful".

The insider added that right now she "cannot look beyond Daniel as she values everything he has done for the franchise in the past decade".

And Broccoli has reportedly not ruled out Craig remaining with the franchise, despite his plans to leave after the upcoming 'Bond 25' movie.
