Sherif Lanre has been booted out of the villa, just six days after the show premiered.
The semi-pro rugby player was asked to leave by producers due to him breaking villa rules.
He has since apologised for his actions, stating “it was a case of poor judgement”.
Sherif is not the first Love Islander to be dismissed from the show, with many previous contestants leaving the programme for various reasons.
During the 2016 series, Malia Arkian was ejected from the show on day seven by security a few hours after her arrival.
Malia was involved in an altercation with fellow participant Kady McDermott after a heated scrap broke out following an argument over spilled wine.
After Kady accidentally poured wine on Malia’s leg, a row erupted and Malia was removed from the villa.
The second season also featured Sophie Gradon, who walked on day 39, after she wanted to reconcile with her estranged boyfriend Tom Powell.
Sophie, who split with Katie Salmon on the show, quickly left after the demise of the relationship, stating: “Guys, I’m going to go. I’ve been feeling like this for a while. Now, I think my time is done.”
Rykard Jenkins decided to pack his bags to pursue a romance with ditched co-star Rachel Fenton on day 15.
The 25-year-old personal trainer gave up his place on the dating show in a bid to continue his relationship with Rachel Fentor, 23, after she was voted off the programme.
Shortly after Rykard Jenkins walked, Zara Holland packed her mini toiletries into her suitcase and left on day 22.
The former Miss Great Britain was stripped of her title after she was filmed having sex on TV.
Days after learning she had lost her title, she was informed by the programme’s crew that her mum was unwell.
She revealed she was “sad” to leave, but wanted to be with her mum.
Last year saw two contestants wave goodbye to the villa early.
On day nine, Niall Aslam cut his stint short and made a shock exit, putting it down to “personal reasons”.
After he left the villa, Niall uploaded a heartfelt post, writing: “For far too long I have suffered in silence and not acknowledged a massive fact about my life which going into the villa has led me to finally realise and accept.
“When I was a young child I was diagnosed with Asperges syndrome, a fact that until this post has never been shared outside of my close family.”
Samira Mighty was left heartbroken when her partner Frankie Foster was booted from the show.
On day 40 she made the decision to follow her heart and continue her relationship with the personal trainer outside of the villa.
