Sherif Lanre's family and friends still don't know why he's been kicked off Love Island after breaking the rules.
The 20-year-old chef has been removed from the villa after crisis talks with producers, and he'll shortly be flown back to the UK in disgrace.
In a grovelling apology, Sherif admitted his "poor judgement" had led to him "mutually agreeing" to leave the show after just nine days of filming.
"In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa," he said.
"I regret that I didn't conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."
However, Sherif's closest relatives have been left totally in the dark about the real reason behind his leaving the villa.
His family, who were left in control of Sherif's Instagram account while he was away, updated fans to reveal he will be appearing in tonight's episode.
"So sadly Sherif has left the villa," the wrote.
"It’s unclear why at the moment but hopefully we will be able to update ASAP‼️ But he will STILL be appearing on our screens tonight."
His family went on: "Everyone on endz is BEYOND proud and excited to have him home. Comment 'heart' down bellow to send your love through the E-WAVES."
ITV is keeping schtum about exactly which rule Sherif has broken, but generally Islanders are warned they can have their contract terminated if they display aggression, racism or become inappropriately sexual. There is no suggestion Sherif has done any of these things.
All Islanders are forced to read a weighty tome of rules, which is kept on them at all times during their villa stints.
The rulebook states there is a strict ban on nudity, flashing, masturbation, drunken or unsafe sex and smoking in the non-designated areas.
*Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
