Spoilers: Kathy and Linda confide pain of rape ordeals in EastEnders

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is set to support Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in upcoming EastEnders scenes that will see her cruelly reminded of her ordeal at the hands of Dean Wicks.

Linda is set to discover that Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) has been staying with her son Dean, despite knowing the torment he put Linda through after raping her in 2014.

Linda kept her ordeal a secret for several months before finally confiding in husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).

However, charges against Dean were dropped due to lack of evidence, leaving Linda heart broken.

After attempting to rape Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons), Dean was arrested once more and this time the case went to trial, though Dean was found not guilty, and moved away after being paid off.

When Linda receives a photo of him and Shirley together, she breaks down, out of sight of the Queen Vic customers.

However, she is soon spotted by a concerned Kathy, who tries her best to comfort her.

Kathy, who was raped in 1988 by James Wilmott-Brown, understands what Linda is going through, and the pair confide in each other about their own ordeals.

Linda has already been through so much recently, with childhood sweetheart Mick Carter going missing at sea on Christmas Day, so it is no surprise that the news about Shirley leaves her shaken.

Will this conversation with Kathy help her to get past it, or is she set to spiral?
