It wouldn’t be EastEnders drama without getting Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) involved and this time, as Janine Butcher’s (Charlie Brooks) daughter Scarlett causes problems, Phil will be left for dead as a fire surrounds him.
Tommy and Scarlett are upstairs and start to hear commotion taking place from Phil and Shirley (Linda Henry).
Consumed with rage over Tina’s (Luisa Bradshaw-White) disappearance, Shirley hits Phil with a baseball bat and he falls to the floor.
Shirley panics and leaves, and no-one realises Scarlett’s jumper landing on the lit hob from Phil’s cooking earlier.
As we pick up the drama, Janine finds Scarlett and Tommy in Tommy’s bedroom,
Tommy locks them in and throws the key down a crack in the floorboards, but once they discover the house is on fire, they scramble to try and reach the key.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Phil is lying unconscious with the flames surrounding him.
He wakes up struggling to breathe, but can Phil make it out alive?
Outside, Ben (Max Bowden) and Callum (Tony Clay) spot the flames, will they go in to try and save Phil?
