Strictly Come Dancing is almost back and ready to roll but before we embark on the glitz and glamour of the highly-anticipated BBC show, we need this year’s celebrity line-up! There have been plenty of rumours flying about these past few months, but could we see yet another Radio 1 DJ take the plunge? Greg James is at the helm of one of the most listened to radio stations in the UK and has become quite the household name over the years.

But what would it take for the presenter to take part in one of the nation’s most loved reality TV shows?

Well, he’s revealed exactly what Strictly would need to do to sign him up.

In a recent interview during his Up Yours Corona campaign, he expressed his thoughts on appearing on either Strictly or I’m A Celeb.

“I don’t want to eat b*****ks on TV,” he instead before clarifying: “That’s I’m A Celebrity, not Strictly!”

“Maybe there should be a hybrid? Maybe I’d do a hybrid, where you have to dance around, and then eat kangaroo b*****ks at the end of the dance. Maybe that’s what we should do.”

  • Phillip Schofield’s next move revealed?

Quite the idea; one that really would get more viewers at home tuning in every Saturday night.

He continued: “Maybe that’s what Strictly needs, a hybrid show where you’ve got to do dancing, but you’ve got to do it on the rickety bridge that might collapse and you might fall to your death.”

He described his notion as the added “jeopardy” the show needs.

Alas, he confirmed he’s “too tired” at the moment to justify a break away from his breakfast radio show, as he’s just about to renew his contract.

“I’m not going anywhere for a while,” he admitted.

“I feel like I’ve only just begun on it really, I’m about to sign on for another run.”

At least BBC producers now know what it would take for Greg to say “yes” to the talent show – dangle him over a rickety bridge.

At least he’s honest!

But there are other stars out there who are totally up for the challenge, no strings attached.

Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts, recently revealed he would love to take part in the dancing competition as soon as the opportunity present itself.

Last week, a BBC viewer wished Martin a happy birthday and put forward three questions to be answered by the star.

The user tweeted: ”I have 3 random questions. 1. Are you still friends with your I’m a celeb housemates. 2. what was your highlight for you. 3. would you do strictly now.”(sic)

Martin soon responded to the viewer and revealed he’s very keen.

Of his I’m A Celeb campmates, he said: “1. Yes, we keep in contact every now and again!

“2. Probably the jungle tavern/ first time we had nice food and drink for weeks! 3. I’d love too!”

Now, bookmakers Ladbrokes have placed the presenter at 4/1 odds to take part.

Alex Apati said: “Martin Roberts is seemingly up for Strictly and BBC chiefs may well take him on board later this year if the latest odds are anything to go by.

“Strictly chiefs are eyeing up their strongest ever line-up and, no stranger to our screens, Martin certainly fits the bill.

“Having already said he’d love to take part in the show, there’s every chance he waltzes into the next series,” added the spokesperson.

Having already completed I’m A Celeb back in 2016, could he take the plunge on Strictly this year?

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
