Strictly's Claudia Winkleman kicks off with gag about Seann Walsh and Katya Jones snogging scandal as she jokes about their 'quiet week'

She joked that it has been a 'quiet week' after Sean Walsh and Katya Jones were spotted kissing.

The host confronted the drama of the week front on during the opening segment of the hit show.

Speaking to the cameras Tess said: " For the last seven days our couples have been eating, sleeping and breathing dance."

Before co-host Claudia Winkleman interjected: “Apart from that I’d say it’s been a quiet week.”

Tess quipped back – “Other than the odd headline” – in reference to the scandal that unravelled this week.

And the cheeky reference was picked up by the audience – drawing in awkward laughs from the studio.

Katya Jones and Seann Walsh have been laying low after being caught snogging on a night out despite both having other halves.

The shamed comedian is reportedly hoping fans forgive him as he's "desperate" to stay on the show.

The comic, 32, has been working extra hard in rehearsals to impress viewers when he takes to the dance floor tonight.

All eyes will be on Seann and Katya, 29, tonight as they return to the Strictly dance floor for the first time since The Sun On Sunday's exclusive pictures caught them kissing on a boozy night out.

Seann has since been dumped by his girlfriend of five years, Rebecca Humphries, 32, over the cheating scandal, but he's said to be keen to make amends with the public.

A source told the Mirror: "[He] is desperate to get the chance to move on with Strictly and with his life.

The pair are going to be dancing the Charleston after Strictly bosses reportedly asked for the sexy routine they had initially planned to do to be toned down.

They are believed to have been previously planning to treat fans to a sexy Tango or a raunchy Rumba.

“He is training hard and is going to give everything he can in the performance."
