Tamzin Outhwaite ‘pretends’ her late mum is alive and living happily in Spain

Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed that she pretends her late mum is still alive and living in Spain.

The EastEnders actress's mum Anna passed away suddenly in 2018 at the age of 67.

Opening up about her loss on the TV show Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof, Tamzin said she always thought that her mum would be "the last person to go" and that she fantasises about her still being around.

"I do still now think she is living in Spain, where she was, and happy," said the star, 51.

"I just think she is there."

"I just pretend, in my head," the Mirror quoted the actress as saying.

As she talked about the loss of her mum, Tamzin said she would love "one more chat, one more cuddle" with her.

The star announced her mother's death in May 2018, saying on Instagram that she was "THE best mum ever".

Tamzin, who has two children of her own, has previously said that she was trying to be like her mum when it came to her own life.

Marking what would have been her 68th birthday, she wrote on Instagram: "And Happy Birthday today to you mummy. Would have been 68… It's no age to go but let's have a huge round of applause for the way you lived your life.

"I'm striving to be more like you daily."

Tamzin is one of the contestants on the BBC's Freeze The Fear, which is hosted by comedian Lee Mack and This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby.

The new series sees a group of celebs including Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell and sports presenter Gabby Logan taking on various challenges in the extreme cold – under the eye of motivational speaker Wim – AKA The Iceman – in a bid to get out of their comfort zones.
