A KEY person has been left out of new Netflix true crime documentary Sophie: A Murder in West Cork.
Sophie Toscan du Plantier was a French filmmaker who was brutally murdered in West Cork in 1996.

English journalist Ian Bailey, now 64, was the prime suspect in the case, but always protested his innocence.
He was found guilty of the murder in his absence by a French court in 2019 and sentenced to 25 years in prison, however he has successfully fought multiple extradition demands from the French Government and has remained in Cork.
Throughout it all, Ian's girlfriend Jules Thomas remained loyally by his side, believing him to be innocent.
Ian was living with Jules at the time of Sophie's death outside her home in December 1996.
While Jules appeared on camera in Sky documentary, Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie, she was absent from the new Netflix three-parter.
Jules and Ian split up in 2020, with the update on their relationship status being included at the end of both documentaries.
The Sun previously reported the ongoing pressure of the murder case and suspicion around Ian had been a primary factor in their break up.
Jules said: "I've had enough. After 25 years I am sick and tired of banging on with this. It's been just awful."
The article also reported how Jules' children refused to visit with her grandchildren while Ian was still living with her, which contributed to her ultimate decision.
Meanwhile Ian has blasted the Netflix documentary as 'demonising propaganda'.
