Strictly Come Dancing fans have taken a liking to Tilly Ramsay, who has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. The young TV chef was partnered with Nikita Kuzmin on the BBC competition series, and she scored a perfect 40 during Musicals Week. But professional dancer and judge, Gary Edwards, is concerned she may face the bottom two this weekend.
Tilly Ramsay has had a turbulent journey on Strictly as she has been in the bottom two, as well as at the top of the leaderboard.
She was saved by the judges in the dance-off against Sara Davies but made an iconic comeback with her Couple’s Choice routine to Revolting Children from Matilda.
The daughter of Gordon Ramsey seems to be on a winning streak, but Dancing With The Stars expert Gary Edwards fears it may not last.
Speaking to Express.co.uk he said: “Tilly, I doubt she would win unless she’s lucky with what dance she gets in the final.
“If it’s a ballroom dance next week Tilly will be in the bottom.
“They will join Dan [Walker] and Nadiya [Bychkova] in the bottom two. Could Dan survive again?
“If Tilly and Nikita have a bad ballroom dance again then yeah, I can see Tilly going.
“Unless they get active and she is more solo then she is safe.
“I think the odds are against them because of the couple issue.”
He has previously commented on how he disagrees with the partnership with newcomer Nikita Kuzmin.
Gary added: “If I’m going to say one thing controversial it’s the fact that where I think it was a nine or 10, was when it was solo.
“As I keep saying, I don’t think it’s a good partner match and I thought she was good on her own.
“I thought she did an amazing job on her own and away from her partner. The weaker parts were when she was actually connecting with her partner.”
However, the judge did praise Tilly for her improvement over the course of the series.
He added: “On the social media side I think the world was against Tilly when she first started.
“I saw a lot of comments about her timing [during Musicals Week]. At the end of the day when it’s musical theatre, you are running from one side of the stage to another.
“You go across the music and you have to make allowances for that. But finally, confidence.”
Commenting further on the feedback from viewers about timing and defending the star, he said: “I’m huge on timing but in musical theatre, not everything is going to be on time to the beat.
“You have to take that into account. I think they call it rhythmical license.
“I personally thought she was amazing. To see her so confident after a rough ride I would totally understand why someone gave it a 10.
“She was the best performance of the night.”
Tilly took to Instagram to share her thoughts on her latest performance, for which she was given full marks.
She said: “Wow I’m still in shock after last night!! I got to dance to my favourite ever musical with @nikita__kuzmin and I just had the best time ever.
“Then receiving four 10’s from the judges was a feeling that I will never forget, it was just amazing.”
She revealed she was taking on the Samba next, which has proven to be a tricky dance so far.
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight on BBC One at 6.55pm
