Tipping Point star floors fans as she shares link with famous politician cousin

Tipping Point viewers were stunned when one contestant revealed she's related to American Vice President Kamala Harris.

Fans of the ITV show found themselves amazed as Megan explained how she is a distant cousin of the influential politician, able to trace her ancestry to make the connection on her dad's side.

The news sparked interest from popular host Ben Shephard as well as her fellow contestants as she described the link.

Viewers of the hit ITV show then took to Twitter to tease her about her relative as they admitted feeling she was a little unlucky in the question-answering department.

Megan had been in the lead out of the three hopeful jackpot winners but a few ill thought out responses meant she ended up lagging behind in second place.

As she crashed out of the competition viewers joked that Kamala wouldn't want to get in touch as she had failed the family by not managing to win a place in the final and pick up the jackpot prize.

One wrote: "If she wins then it's a fix just like Biden/Harris winning the election. #TippingPoint"

Another added: "#tippingpoint Would ya believe it! And she does look like Kamala Harris as well!"

A third social media user tweeted: "If the Vice President contacts you Megan it will to disown you for showing the family up."

A fourth jibed: "Kamala Harris will definitely not be in touch, Megan."

A fifth viewer continued: "Pretty wild when you think about it that the USA Vice President is related to this girl who's on Tipping Point trying to win £10k."

Sadly for Megan, it was rival contestant Max who bagged the jackpot prize and took home £10,000 after he struck gold in the final round and managed to pocket the top prize with one counter to spare.

The emotional Londoner broke down in tears and was rendered speechless as he couldn't believe his luck at grabbing the prize.

Tipping Point is on weekdays at 4 pm on ITV and ITV Hub
