Virgin River fans have been patiently waiting for new episodes of the popular romantic drama since it first aired in December 2019. Now the wait is almost over as the show transports viewers back to the picturesque Californian town. has rounded up everything you need to know about the new show heading into the outing, including how many episodes there will be.

How many episodes are in Virgin River season 2?

Season one of Virgin River ended with a huge cliffhanger for the residents of the small town.

This came after it was revealed Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) was expecting a baby with Charmaine Roberts (Lauren Hammersley).

The news threw his blossoming romance with Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) into turmoil.

The last viewers saw of her she was packing up her belongings and heading back to Los Angeles.

As a result, there has been a lot of anticipation about the show’s return for a second season.

Romantic drama fans are therefore very excited for Virgin River to air on Netflix this week.

The show will be released in full on the streaming platform on Friday, November 27.

The new episodes will all be made available at 8am GMT on Friday morning.

In total, there will be 10 episodes for fans to get stuck into the new outing.

Episode titles have not yet been released but fans should expect them to have a runtime of about 45 minutes each.

In order to watch them, fans will need a subscription to Netflix, which begins at £5.99 per month.

Provided viewers have this, they will be able to binge-watch the latest season over the weekend.

Netflix has also released a brief synopsis about what viewers can expect from the new outing.

This reads: “Melinda Monroe returns to Virgin River and Doc’s clinic, realizing she must learn to come to terms with herself and her past before she can truly make this her home.”

The stars of the show also recently opened up about the show in an interview with TV Line.

Breckenridge said of Jack and Mel: “These are characters who just belong together.

“They’re like magnets, no matter how many obstacles keep getting thrown in their way.”

Showrunner Sue Tenney also teased: “You’ll see Jack and Mel struggle against their attraction in season two and you’ll see what happens if they succumb to it.

“You’ll see what that means for their future – and how that future gets massively complicated in the very last moments of the season.”

Alongside Breckenridge and Henderson, most of the season one cast will also be returning.

This includes Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Grayson Gurnsey and Lexa Doig.

Virgin River season 2 lands on Netflix on November 27.
