CRUFTS returned in 2022 after we missed out on the famous dog show because of Covid-19 in 2021.
Over 20,000 dogs were on display at the Crufts Show as they competed in different categories to decide who is the top dog.
Who won Crufts Best In Show 2022?
The Best In Show award is given to the dog that is chosen as the overall winner of the show.
It is the most prestigious award that a dog can earn.
First the dogs will compete against other dogs of the same breed and age and then it will go down to the best standing.

Dogs compete in seven different categories in Crufts.
Working
This category has breed of dogs which are normally trained to perform practical work such as police dogs or guide dogs.
The most popular breed was the Bernese mountain dog with 140 dogs.
The results were:

These dogs are breeds such as poodle which come from a non-sporting lineage.
Back in the day, they were meant to be trained to do certain work but now they are more considered as pets.

This category includes breeds of small dogs.
The most popular breed was the pug with 223 dogs.

Pastoral
These dogs belong to a breed that is normally developed for herding such as a husky.
The most popular breed was the border collie with 253 dogs.

These dogs are normally used to hunt for small animals which can damage crops and fields.
They are a fearless breed of dogs.

These dogs are used to hunt and catch prey.
The most popular breed was the whippet with 382 dogs.

These dogs assists hunters in finding game such as doves and ducks.
