Zara McDermott was over the moon as her boyfriend Sam Thompson's nephew, Leo, reached a new milestone on the same day Sam won I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
She shared on Instagram: "He said 'Sam' properly for the first time last night with no lisp, bless him.
"Proud auntie I can't believe how much he's talking now, the little chatterbox," she captioned the clip. "He pointed at the bunting with Sam's face on and shouted 'Sam!' and I just screamed, LOUISE! HE SAID SAM WITH NO LISP!"
Leo, who turns two this month, is the son of Sam's sister Louise and her fiance Ryan Libbey.
Zara has become very close to the little one, showing a natural talent with kids. "He's adorable. He's just been practising his snogging.
"The other day he was snogging my face off, he's so sweet. We love him to bits," she gushed last year. However, Sam wasn't as excited about becoming an uncle at first.
Sam confessed: "Whenever anyone first has a kid, you don't really realise until it's more in your immediate family, but the first few months is pointless," and "They're just like a stone that s***s and eats.
"They don't know you, they don't care who you are. If they [Louise and Ryan] have another one, I'll just be like, 'Hey, I'll see you in four months.' Maybe later, maybe six months! Now, he's brilliant. He remembers you, he puts his arms around you, he basically said, 'Uncle Sam, I love you so much.' But it's great now because at the start he just wouldn't move. He's just awesome, he's the cutest."
Sam, 31, has been dating Zara since 2019, after the model slid into his DM's following his breakup with Sophie Habboo. The pair briefly split, however, in October 2020, after the Strictly star admitted to cheating on Sam during her stint on Celebrity X Factor.
Zara publicly apologised for her actions and after working things through, two were officially back together two months later.
Sam is set to achieve huge things after leaving the jungle, but his fellow finalist Tony Bellew has had some stern words of advice for him.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday, 11 December, Tony explained: "I want Sam to chill out because Sam is coming into a whole new world now, he really is.
"I just want him to be happy. I want him to keep the energy that he's got, but he's going to have to manage himself correctly."
