A BARRISTER sued the Crown Prosecution Service for harassment after a colleague asked him to stop breaking wind.
Tarique Mohammed said his flatulence was caused by heart medication he was taking.
Being asked to stop trumping in the small room the pair worked in violated his dignity, an employment tribunal was told.
But the panel found it was a reasonable request, given the size of the office they shared and how often he was doing it.
The real-life Rumpole’s allegation was part of a series of disability-related claims against his employer following a heart attack.
They were thrown out by the tribunal.

But he is in line for compensation because the CPS accepted it had treated him unfairly by not allowing him to work from home two days a week, leave work at 4pm to help him manage his condition and by removing him from court duties.
The hearing in Reading, Berks, was told Mr Mohammed was a senior prosecutor in the Thames Valley area but, after his health problems began, he was moved to an office-based role in Guildford, Surrey.
The panel said many of the incidents he complained of were unrelated to his disability or were caused by him over-reacting.
