Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will be retested for coronavirus after his first test came back negative.
The test will be done early next week, to rule out any chance that the firebrand leader caught the virus during his trip last week to President Trump’s Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, a Sao Paolo paper reported, according to Reuters.
Bolsonaro’s communications secretary Fabio Wajngarten, who was part of the large entourage that met with Trump, tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Two others who were at the resort last weekend also tested positive for the deadly bug, including Charge d’Affairs Nestor Forster Jr. at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington.
Bolsonaro, who has downplayed the seriousness of the pandemic, posted that he tested negative on his Facebook page with a photo of him making an obscene gesture, following reports that his test came back positive.
