Chantelle Houghton has sparked concern by sharing a snap from a hospital bed after suffering a mystery illness on Thursday.

The Celebrity Big Brother star, 37, was in a consultation room wearing a face covering with heart rate monitors attached to her chest.

She wrote in the caption that she had experienced a ‘scary day’ but that the NHS were ‘amazing’, without elaborating further about the reason for her visit.

The beauty penned: ‘Grateful to the NHS, thank you for looking after me when I needed you…scary day but the NHS were amazing, so much love and so grateful @nhsengland’.  

A representative for Chantelle has been contacted by MailOnline for further information. 

Fans were quick to comment on the snap to wish her a speedy recovery, with one saying: ‘Sending you love girl.’

Another commented: ‘Hope you feel better soon’ while a third wrote: ‘Wishing u a speedy recovery xx’

It comes after in September Chantelle revealed that she split from her fiancé Michael Strutt, with the pair having gone their separate ways earlier this year.

Speaking in an interview she admitted their romance ‘fizzled out’ shortly after moving in together, adding: ‘With lockdown, we moved in together really quickly. That put a lot of pressure on things.’

The TV personality also spoke candidly about her three stone weight gain, explaining her weight ‘just crept up on her’. 

Speaking to OK!, Chantelle said of her and Michael’s split: ‘It was amicable and we are still very friendly. At the start of the year I moved out.’

Michael popped the question in April 2020 after three months of dating, however their whirlwind romance wasn’t to be.

Elsewhere in her interview with the magazine, Chantelle said that she’s determined to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

‘I’ve put on about three stone since the start of the pandemic, mainly on my tummy. It just crept up and up and I’m now the heaviest I’ve ever been.’ 

She added: ‘So I’ve started working with MuscleFood on their GoalGetters healthy eating plan, which has been a really big, positive thing for me to concentrate on.’

It comes five months after Chantelle opened up about how she now lives a ‘normal life’ after finding fame on the 2006 edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

The reality personality, who now works for the Body Shop, said she was once paid £250,000 for her first interview after leaving the Big Brother house. 

Chantelle found love with Ordinary Boys singer Preston during her time on the show and admitted she was given almost £1million for their wedding interview.

Despite the eye-watering fees coming her way, Chantelle told the Sun in April she was always sensible: ‘I was a millionaire and I’ve got a mortgage-free home as a result.

‘I was very wise with my money, I didn’t go out and spend it on designer handbags or shoes, I grew up with bailiffs knocking on the door, and I just didn’t want to live that life.’

Chantelle also shares a nine-year-old daughter with her ex-fiancé Alex Reid.
