Suella Braverman sacked: Do YOU agree with Rishi Sunak’s decision to  sack her as Home Secretary? THE GREAT DEBATE

Suella Braverman has been sacked as home secretary, sparking a major political row in Westminster between those who loved her tough policies and those who thought she went too far.

The hardliner was axed by Rishi Sunak after she accused the Metropolitan Police of being less tough on left-wing protesters than right-wing ones, ahead of Armistice Day’s pro-Palestine protest march in London.

She also provoked anger by trying to ban charities from giving tents to the homeless, saying that for many living rough was a ‘lifestyle choice’.

However her allies hit out at the decision to replace her with James Cleverly today, saying she was right to criticise the police after the march – and a counter-march by the Far Right – sparked violence and anti-Semitic chanting on Saturday.

They also believe she is more in touch with public opinion on immigration and other social issues than the Prime Minister and the rest of his Cabinet.
