If you’ve never hastily completed a summer barbecue spread by tossing a bag of Doritos into a bowl, well, Martha Stewart, I appreciate you reading. For the rest of us, the flavored corn chips may not be the most iconic summertime snack, but they’ve certainly done their job at cookouts when called upon – and now, the brand is rolling out two flavors specifically intended to pair with the likes of hot dogs and hamburgers… Doritos Ketchup and Doritos Mustard.

As is often the case with these two condiments, Doritos has given Ketchup the top billing… but for very good reason. Doritos Ketchup is actually one of Canada’s best-selling varieties of the ubiquitous snack. And with this release, the flavor is apparently landing in the U.S. for the first time. The two chips from different sides of the border don’t appear to be identical – Doritos says only that the American iteration is “based off” the Canadian version – but we can still expect “a tangy and subtly sweet taste.”

And yet, Doritos Mustard sounds like it could be the more intriguing of the two new flavors, specifically because it’s not based on your typical mellow yellow condiment. Instead, whereas Doritos includes “Classic” Ketchup in the former’s fine print, the brand officially dubs the latter as “Spicy Mustard” – and explains that this “first-of-its-kind” flavor is actually inspired by Chinese hot mustard. The results are billed as “the iconic tang of mustard meets the bold and spicy flavors Doritos fans know and love.”

Both flavors are available for a limited time only, and they are both being sold exclusively through Frito-Lay’s own website, Snacks.com. A 9.25-ounce bag sells for $5.59. How many bags you’ll need will probably depend on how good these chips taste when you put them onto your hamburgers and hot dogs instead of the actual condiments. No, I personally haven’t tried it, but it sounds like a sensible experiment, right?
