Hollyoaks confirms tragic cancer storyline for Juliet

Hollyoaks has confirmed a tragic new storyline for Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw), as she looks set to be diagnosed with cancer.

The youngster will find herself increasingly ill, with her eventually taken to hospital to undergo tests.

Her ex, Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) struggles to fight her fears as she looks after her patient.

The pair recently grew close again, sparking hopes among fans that a reunion may be on the cards.

But a tragic turn of events may tear them apart forever.

A concerned Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) double checks Juliet’s bloods and then orders a biopsy.

She is then told that it might be cancer, and she is frightened for her future. After Ste hay (Kieron Richardson) comes across a leaflet she has about the disease, news reaches James (Gregory Finnegan) that she is unwell.

He arrives at the hospital, where she tearfully tells him that she might have cancer, before he then embraces her.

It remains to be seen whether Juliet will come through this, but there look set to be some painful months ahead for her.

The scenes were revealed in the show’s winter trailer, which also highlighted a number of other significant storylines.

Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is more and more worried about the sinister behaviour of her son Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox).

As Goldie (Chelsee Healey) discovers just how dangerous he is, she orders them both out of the house.

But in an unsettling scene, Bobby is seen warning her not to cross him – or she will become an angel.

He adds her to a list that sees Sylver and Silas – the two he previously killed – meaning he could be out to kill again.

And elsewhere, in the wake of a horrific attack during a night out, Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) vows to fight back against vile predator Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty).

And when Verity Hutchinson (Eva O’Hara) learns the shocking truth, she is attacked – and in the path of a collapsing bookcase…
