Dramatic timelapse footage has captured a massive dust storm rage across an eerie landscape.
The dust storm, also called a haboob, approaches the camera from the distance and eventually engulfs it.
The clip was filmed in Casa Grande, Arizona, on Monday afternoon and has since been widely shared on social media.
Many on Facebook have reacted in awe to the phenomenon.
Some compared it to scenes from Hollywood films.
"Doesn’t it look like the dust storm from the movie interstellar years ago," a movie fan posted.
"Looks like a scene from The Mummy," wrote one woman.
"This is really cool footage," shared another Facebook user.
Dust storms happen when a gust front blows loose sand and dirt from a dry surface.
These fine particles are transported by saltation and suspension, processes which move the dirt from one place and deposit it in another.
A powerful dust storm killed more than 100 people in India earlier this year.
