Jet2 flyers cheer as woman who 'slapped passengers' and shouting in air steward's face is booted off

JET2 flyers erupted in cheers as a woman who shouted in an air steward's face and allegedly slapped passengers was booted off the plane.

The rowdy woman was hauled off the flight from Manchester to Turkey and escorted off the plane after the aircraft was diverted to Vienna.

She had caused a commotion thousands of feet in the air shortly after boarding the packed flight on Monday.

Shocking footage shows the blonde, understood to be from the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire, pacing up and down the cabin before shouting at crew members.

She is heard repeatedly bellowing: "What have I done wrong on this flight?"

The woman then continues to yell at Jet2 team members and squares up to a stewardess trying to calm the situation.

A member of the crew is seen in the footage telling her to "stand back" to which the irate woman replies: "I am back. Sort your head out you."

The airline worker then tells her: "You are not doing yourself any favours."

But the unruly passenger hit back: "You're not doing yourself any favours either.

"So what have I done? Don't touch me, don't ****ing touch me!"

Appalled flyers watched the row unfold just inches from them, with one man seen in the clip shaking his head in disbelief.

The plane departed from Manchester Airport at around 9.15am on Monday for the four-and-a-half-hour flight to Antalya.

But pilots were forced to make an unplanned diversion to Vienna after the woman began her rampage.

One passenger claimed she had even physically attacked other travellers before the explosive clash with the stewardess.

The woman was escorted off the Jet2 aircraft at around 11.40am where officers were waiting.

"DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOUR"

The airline sent a text message to passengers onboard the flight just before dinnertime, apologising for the incident.

It read: "Hello, we are sorry that due to the disruptive behaviour of a fellow passenger, your flight has been diverted to Vienna.

"We are working on a situation to get you on your way as soon as possible."

Triumphant travellers then cheered as she was carted off by cops and were heard shouting "bye bye".

Another passenger joked: "Wait til you get the bill love!"

The plane then set off again for Antalya at 1pm, before arriving shortly after 3pm.

One passenger onboard the plane, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that the female passenger became disruptive "about an hour and 20 minutes" into the flight.

They told Manchester Evening News: "There was lots of noise. Then she came to the front of the plane.

She was really angry towards Jet2 staff and wouldn’t calm down. Her voice was getting louder and more aggressive – she was shouting in people’s faces.

“People were saying she was kicking off at the airport before she even got on the plane. Then some people said it was over babies crying on the flight.

“A customer said something and she slapped him in the face. Then a man got up to try and calm the situation before taking her to the back of the plane.”

The passenger claimed that staff then made the decision to divert the flight to Vienna.

As the plane landed, the woman allegedly slapped another passenger as she left the airline.

The passenger added that Jet2 staff handled the whole situation "very well".

A Jet2 spokesman said of the incident: "We can confirm that flight LS895 from Manchester to Antalya diverted to Vienna earlier today so that a disruptive passenger could be offloaded.
