A female Thai boxing champion may have been murdered in a fall from a 13th storey window.
Kristina Myalina, 26, plunged from a residential building in Moscow, Russia, hitting a ledge covering the block's front door and receiving fatal wounds.
Russian police have now launched a murder investigation.
No suicide note was found near the shared balcony she fell to her death from.
A police source said: “During the checks it was established that the sports woman fell from a shared balcony on the 13th floor of the building. She had no chance to survive.”
Police are studying CCTV cameras in the block of flats, reported Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Myalina – nicknamed ‘Fierce’ by her friends – switched to martial arts from handball and became Russian champion in 2013.
She was a member of Russian national team at the European championship in Prague in 2018.
In interviews she several times said: “I dream to live to be 100.”
Speaking about her sport, she added: “I played handball for 7 years, but I always dreamed of doing martial arts.
"At one point, I just left everything and began to train. I understand that this is mine. I fell in love with this sport."
