NSW records seven new locally-acquired COVID-19 cases

NSW recorded seven local cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to Boxing Day, all of which were linked to Sydney's northern beaches.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on Sunday that six of the new cases were confirmed as part of the Avalon cluster and the seventh was under investigation, but the person had attended the Belrose Hotel.

Health authorities are investigating the missing link between that man and the Avalon cluster.

NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant has asked anybody who attended the Belrose Hotel at any time in December and had any symptoms of any illness to go and have a test.
