Rapper Wiley is suspended from Twitter AGAIN after using new account to post string of ‘anti-Semitic’ messages including video about ‘Satanic Jews’ and how ‘Jewish faces’ control music
- The grime star was previously banned from the social media platform last July
- He then set up a new account, in which he ‘spouted racist hate towards Jews’
- Twitter has since permanently suspended the @WileyRecordings account
Rapper Wiley has once again been suspended from Twitter after posting more ‘anti-Semitic’ messages from a new account.
The grime star was banned from the social media site last July after being widely condemned for a series of posts, including one which called Jewish people ‘cowards and snakes’.
He caused further controversy when he claimed his Jewish associates in the music and entertainment industry ‘still see us as slaves’ in an interview with The Voice newspaper.
In the subsequent days, the musician, whose real name is Richard Cowie, denied he is racist and apologised for ‘generalising’.
He then set up a new Twitter account under the handle @WileyRecordings, which the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) says was used to ‘spout racist hate towards Jews’.

On that account, he tweeted a number of posts, including an image of himself in Hasidic garb
Twitter told Jewish News that the account was ‘permanently suspended for violations of the Twitter rules on hateful conduct policy’
On that account, he tweeted an image of himself in Hasidic garb and a video titled ‘the Jewish Faces that Control Hiphop and Mainstream Black Music.’
He posted a further video ‘discuss[ing] historical tensions between blacks & Jews’ and, in another tweet, asserted: ‘The more they block me the harder I go and when I get through the door I will stand there and look in their faces with the same look they don’t wanna see….They are just angry they can’t control me…’
Then on his Instagram page, Wiley posted a screenshot from his Twitter account – which has now since been suspended – with the caption: ‘No point shutting me down I got 20 burner accounts to use lol.’
On that platform, he shared another video which referred to ‘Satanic Jews’ before appearing to taunt a senior figure in the CAA, by changing his profile picture to an image of the man and allegedly calling him a ‘coward’ in an Instagram live stream.
Twitter told Jewish News that the account was ‘permanently suspended for violations of the Twitter rules on hateful conduct policy’.
At the time of last year’s row, the social media giant apologised for being too slow to react to the musician’s posts.
Known as the Godfather of Grime, Wiley was made an MBE for services to music in 2018, but the latest controversy has sparked fresh calls for him to be stripped of the gong and have his Ivors Award rescinded.
A spokesperson for CAA said: ‘The antisemite Wiley has been able to return to Twitter and Instagram to spout racist hate, even adopting the image of one of our personnel as his profile picture and taunting him.
‘We are in contact with the police and are examining legal options.
Wiley also shared a video titled ‘the Jewish Faces that Control Hiphop and Mainstream Black Music’
The rapper also shared another video which referred to ‘Satanic Jews’ before his account was suspended
‘Twitter has suspended Wiley’s account after we called on the platform to do so, but the company has failed to prevent him joining the platform repeatedly over the past year, despite its pledge to ban him.
‘The company continues to ignore a wide range of antisemitic accounts that we have brought to its attention, presumably because they fail to attract the same degree of public interest and negative publicity as this case.
‘We are now in contact with Instagram, asking for his live stream to be ended and his account removed, and we are in touch with the police about some of his deranged output.’
