Schoolgirl, 13, found dead at home in Scotland

A 13-year-old schoolgirl has been found dead at a home in Scotland with police today confirming they are treating her death as "unexplained".

Officers were called to the house in Wishaw at 7.20pm last Thursday to a report that the teenager had died.

Police have not yet confirmed the schoolgirl’s name – but tributes at the scene name her as ‘Robyn’.

Pink and white floral tributes have been tied to a black fence outside the home.

One says: "RIP beautiful."

Another reads: "Shine bright, Robyn. Love you always."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 7.20pm on Thursday, July 26, police were called to a report of a death of a 13-year-old girl at an address in Lomond Drive, Wishaw.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of her death which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
