A RECORD shop worker has won £14,772 after her boss told her to wear more make-up as she looked “unpresentable”.
Acne sufferer Kate Leighton was left in tears by Rachel Lowe’s jibe after she cut back on cosmetics to relieve her skin.
Lowe asked why she came to work “a mess”.
Kate, then 22, said: “I found her remarks offensive, as a woman and in view of my skin condition. I felt humiliated.”
She quit the Vinyl Revolution store in her home town of Brighton in 2018.
A tribunal in Croydon, South London, found against VR Music in a sex harassment and age discrimination hearing.
Judge Corinna Ferguson ruled: “It is unreasonable to suggest an employee cannot look professional without make-up.”
