A straphanger was pushed onto the subway tracks following an accidental run-in with a stranger inside Grand Central Station, police said Wednesday.
The 47-year-old was ascending the stairs to the 6 train platform around 4:15 p.m. Monday when he unintentionally bumped the unidentified man.
When they reached the platform, the stranger pushed him back and muttered something like, “What’s wrong with you?” The unhinged man then challenged the victim to a fight and shoved him onto the tracks, police said.
Good Samaritans pulled the victim back onto the platform and called 911. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries to his arms and legs.
Police provided photographs of the alleged attacker, whom they described as approximately 27 to 28 years old and 5 feet 8 with a thin build.
