Two women and man injured in horror meat cleaver attack in Birmingham

A thug who went on the loose armed with a meat cleaver has injured two women and a man during his rampage.

Police are searching for the lone man who struck in Digbeth, Birmingham, on Friday.

The attack is believed to have taken place close to tourist attractions Eastside City Park and the Thinktank, at around 7.30pm.

One of the victims – a woman aged in her 20s – was rushed into The Woodman pub for treatment while awaiting ambulance crews.

All three victims – a man in his 30s and two women in their 20s – were taken to hospital following the attack.

They all remain in a stable condition.

Police confirmed they were investigating ‘a disorder’ that took place in New Canal Street, and said no arrests had yet been made.

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating a disorder that took place in New Canal Street, in Birmingham, at around 7.40pm on Friday night.

"Three people were wounded by a meat cleaver. A man in his 30s and two women in their 20s were taken to hospital for treatment.

"Their condition is described as stable. No arrests have been made at this stage.

"Officers are currently investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
