When will Emmerdale’s Meena be caught? From Liam Cavanagh trophy twist to keepsake blunder

Emmerdale fans' prayers will soon be answered, as it’s been teased that the villagers will finally discover what evil murderer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) has been up to.

Meena is currently buckling under the pressure of her secret life of crime, as she’s keeping sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) hostage and planning to kill them both in a horrific double murder plot.

However, after being front and centre of the ITV soap for the past year, actress Paige Sandhu has revealed that the hostage storyline will mark the "beginning of the end" as Meena’s past catches up with her.

But how will the unhinged nurse be caught out? And who will be responsible for her anticipated downfall?

Here, OK! takes a look at the best fan theories so far, as actress Paige prepares to bow out of the soap after making her mark as one of the biggest villains the Dales has ever seen…

LIAM CATCHES MEENA OUT

Soap watchers have predicted that Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) could bring down the village murderer, especially after discovering her lies recently.

On Monday 10 January episode, Liam, who had previously prescribed Meena "pretty strong sedatives", decided to dig into her medical records.

And it wasn't long until the village doctor, who is unaware the evil nurse murdered his daughter Leanna, was left perplexed as he discovered that there was no mention of Meena's pregnancy or miscarriage in the records.

Soap fans will recall that Meena claimed she was pregnant after Billy Fletcher dumped her for his ex Dawn Taylor and she pretended to have lost the baby following The Woolpack pub explosion.

Viewers have now predicted that Liam could bring Meena down following the discovery, especially after theITV soap previously showed a trophy on his desk that said Blackpool Murder Mystery Weekend Winner.

MEENA’S TROPHIES

It's a big week on Emmerdale next week as Meena's incriminating trinket box, filled with her murder victims' belongings, might finally be discovered…

The allotment is looking a little worse for wear so Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) examine the damage.

Neither notice that murderer Meena’s trinket box is sticking up from the earth. Later, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) shovels dirt across the box while working. Is it buried for good? Or will the residents uncover the secrets within?

MANPREET REVENGE

Emmerdale recently released a new dramatic spoiler clip teasing the moment that Manpreet attempts to save herself and Vinny after discovering the van key in the barn.

In the new spoiler clip, it sees Vinny admit to Manpreet: "I'm scared and she knows it… she's getting off on it. I don't want to die."

Vinny then closes his eyes as Manpreet begs: "No, no, Vinny, open your eyes. Please, Vinny, can you hear me?"

Manpreet then starts to dig into the straw flooring with her feet as she discovers the van key and reaches for it.

The spoiler clip ends with the village doctor insisting: "Nobody is going to die today, trust me!"

Emmerdale also teased that Manpreet tells Vinny about all of Meena's past victims and after she manages to free herself she attacks her sibling with a piece of wood.

However, after wounding her wrist, a furious Meena soon gets the upper hand and after an uncomfortable chat with Liam she tells Manpreet and Vinny today will be their final day alive…

Will Manpreet be able to save herself and Vinny from Meena?

BODY BAG BLUNDER

On Wednesday 5 January, the episode ended with Meena dragging a body bag after terrorising sister Manpreet, who soap fans now know is still alive.

Only recently on the ITV soap, murderer Meena has been drugging her sister Manpreet and holding her hostage following The Woolpack pub explosion, warning that she has just days left to live.

During the episode, Meena was left furious as she discovered that Wendy Posner was returning on Thursday 6 January as she had been keeping Manpreet in her home.

Realising her crimes would be exposed, she fumed: "What am I supposed to do with you now, go straight to day seven? Oh dear, looks like the fun is over, sis."

The episode ended with Meena moving a body bag in the village to her car as she chillingly said: "I'm sorry sis, I never wanted it to end like this…"
