A WOMAN has been charged with murdering a five-year-old boy found dead at home on New Year's Eve.
Police were scrambled to the house in Oldham by the ambulance service.
Tragically, Dylan Scanlon couldn't be saved and was declared dead at the scene.
Claire Scanlon, 36, has now been charged with murder.
She will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.
Paying tribute to his son previously, Dylan's dad Gary Keenan described him as "my best mate".

He added: "He was a happy, funny and cheeky little boy, who was full of excitement – especially about doing new things.
"Dylan loved going to school, playing with his friends and dogs and going for drives with me to parks and lakes.
"He loved being at the lake but not walking around it – he was there for the ice cream, a ride on daddy's shoulders and a McDonald's on the way home.
"I will always remember his face when I got home from work – he was always happy to see me and I loved spending any time with him that I could."
The case was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to "previous contact".
