90s pop icon Dario G, real name Paul Spencer, has been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

The singer, who is behind hits including Sunchyme and Carnival de Paris, confirmed the news in a tweet.

He wrote: “Hard to write this. I’ve just found out that I’ve got stage 4 rectal cancer and a shadow on my liver.

“That’s damn hard to read too I’m sure. Gonna give it my best shot though.”

The star added: “Stay positive, cos I am. Always. Seeing the doctors on Friday to discuss the next steps.”

He concluded the tweet with the hashtag “f***cancer”.

Fans took to the comments section to send him supportive messages.

One Twitter user wrote: “Stay strong.”

Another added: “So many treatments now to fight this horrible disease, fingers crossed for you and sending positive thoughts.”
