Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage has never been far from fans’ minds, with some of their more recent exchanges raising a few eyebrows.

Recent exchanges have led social media detectives to claim he must be ‘miserable’ in their marriage.

Tongues first started wagging when the pair appeared to have a tense exchange at the 2023 Grammy Awards, though both have since brushed it off.

On Wednesday, Ben went viral when a social media video showed him appearing to slam a car door, after JLo stepping in following a coffee run together.

So, as fans continue to cast their eye on Ben and Jennifer’s relationship, MailOnline has taken a look-back at some of their most fraught moments.

A passionate honeymoon dinner

Impassioned: Mere days after Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in August, he was spotted vigorously gesturing with his head and hands while out to dinne

Mere days after Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in August, he was spotted vigorously gesturing with his head and hands while out to dinner with his new bride Jennifer Lopez at a ritzy Italian hotel.

The pair were photographed at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como in Northern Italy, the first sighting of the celebrity couple since their blockbuster weekend wedding at Affleck’s $8.9million Georgia ‘plantation’ estate.

Ben shook his head side to side and spoke rapidly as Jennifer listened on. His hands flashed up and down and side to side, and he leaned in to Jennifer with a series of animated expressions on his face.

Jennifer shifted in her seat but appeared to listen intently as her fourth husband spoke.

They could be seen looking at what appeared to be photos from their wedding on Ben’s phone, which he held up several times to share with his beaming bride.

The couple left the hotel hand-in-hand around 10:30pm local time.

A steely Grammy’s exchange

Uh-oh! Jennifer and Ben were caught in the middle of a tense exchange at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where a lipreader said she told her husband to ‘look more motivated’

As they both attended the star-studded music awards in February, Jennifer and Ben appeared to put on a united front as they took their place in the audience.

Lopez and Affleck, who frequently looks strained and angry when in public, were seen exchanging tense words during the ceremony, right as host Trevor Noah sat down next to them.

‘Stop,’ Lopez tells him. ‘Look more friendly. Look motivated.’ Affleck replies: ‘I might.’

The couple’s exchange was transcribed by a lipreader, commissioned by DailyMail.com.

Ben later clarified the moment, revealing that he was joking with Jennifer but then realized the camera was on them.

‘As soon as they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor,’ he said he told Jennifer, via his interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

‘She goes “You better f*****g not leave. That’s a husband and wife thing. I mean some of it is.” I’m like, “All right, who is this act?”‘

Red carpet tension

At odds? Earlier this week, Jennifer was seen gesticulating at her husband while they attended the premiere of her new movie The Mother

Happier times: After they were snapped during their tense chat, they soon reverted to Hollywood mode with beaming grins and stage-worthy kisses

Earlier this week, Ben and Jennifer attended the premiere for her new movie The Mother.

The Get Loud songstress, 53, had a frown on her face and was gesticulating at her husband, 50, who she married last year, while he looked angry, though a lipreader clarified that it was far from an argument.

After they were snapped having their tense conversation, they soon reverted to Hollywood mode with beaming grins and stage-worthy kisses.

A lipreader confirmed with Ben if her low-cut top was ‘showing too much,’ pushing him to respond that it looked fine.

Later on when the couple managed to find their right pose, the Air actor asked his wife to get a little closer, then he leaned into her ear and said, ‘don’t worry, babe.’

To which Lopez seemingly responded saying, ‘come close to me.’

After the photo shoot, Affleck turned to Jennifer and said ‘that’s us, done’, he then gave her a kiss and asked, if she was OK.

‘Yes’ she replied with Jennifer going onto tell Ben that they needed to ‘step over there.’

Ben’s ‘stressed’ door slam

The latest: Ben sent fans into a frenzy when he appeared to slam the car door with wife Jennifer sat in the passenger seat on Thursday

Yikes: He opened the door for Jennifer, who slipped into the passenger seat. Ben shut the door firmly, even adding a hand gesture to emphasize closing it

Ben Affleck appeared to slam the car door after wife Jennifer sat in the passenger seat, causing fans to go in a frenzy on social media.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows Ben walking in front of Jennifer to their Mercedes while toting an iced coffee on Monday morning.

The actor opens the door for Jennifer, who slips into the passenger seat.

Ben shut the door firmly, even adding a hand gesture to emphasise closing it – with fans convinced it was because he was ‘stressed.’

Fans took to Twitter to comment on the viral clip, noting that he looked ‘miserable.’

Another person on Twitter wrote: ‘Is this the new Dunking Donuts commercial?’ with someone else writing: ‘He always looks like he’s fed up and annoyed.

‘You can “have it all” and still be miserable,’ said someone in a tweet.

Prior to the door slamming, Jennifer and Ben were seen smiling and holding hands during their coffee run.

Ben grinned ear to ear as he toted his large iced coffee while Jennifer smiled and chatted with him, as she carried a small hot beverage.

Ben and Jennifer tied the knot in August 2022 after rekindling their romance in 2021.

They were previously engaged in 2002 before going their separate ways two years later.
