After six years out of the spotlight, Adele finally announced she will be releasing her fourth studio album, entitled 30, on November 19.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, the singer, 33, explained that she finally felt ready to release her music as she has ‘never felt more peaceful’, following her divorce from Simon Konecki.

After confessing that she spent many nights ‘sobbing and consumed with grief’ as she struggled to come to terms with the breakdown of her marriage – Adele went on to credit her album as being like a friend to her, describing it as ‘my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life’.

Adele and charity CEO Simon, 47, announced they were going their separate ways in April 2019, with Adele filing court documents five months later.

The couple – who dated for seven years and were married for two – co-parent their son Angelo, eight.

Their divorce was finalised in March this year, and Simon is believed to live in one of the three houses on Adele’s Beverly Hills compound so that he can be close to Angelo.

While Adele may have been comforted by her songwriting process, the British beauty no doubt received plenty of help from her real friends.

Now, as she prepares to release her first new music in six years, MailOnline takes a look at the singer’s superstar inner circle who have supported her through the last few years.

Both stars became Oscar winners that night as Adele won for James Bond theme tune Skyfall and Jennifer accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress in American Hustle.

However, Jennifer has since revealed that she had been a fan of Adele’s music since 2008 and admitted to feeling starstruck while watching the Hello singer perform at the annual Hollywood awards ceremony that year.

Admitting that she orchestrated their first meeting, Jennifer previously said: ‘I remember sneaking backstage while she performed Skyfall, trying to squeeze a ball gown past a pile of ropes and cables just to get a little closer.

She added: ‘I had been a fan of hers since Chasing Pavements (saying ‘fan’ about Adele always sounds like an understatement, doesn’t it?).’

Jennifer also praised the London-born singer as ‘a gift and an international treasure’ and said she personally knew her to be ‘sweet, funny and intelligent.’

The Grammy-winning singer then took part in Carpool Karaoke with James in 2016 and later gushed she ‘had the best time’ in his company.

The pair left fans in hysterics with the segment, which kicked off with James pretending to call her and announcing: ‘Hello, it’s me. I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet?’

The duo also no doubt bonded as two British stars living in America, with both stars born in London but having moved to Los Angeles.

Their friendship has stayed strong over the years and last year, Adele and James enjoyed a holiday in Anguilla alongside mutual pal, Harry Styles.

Adele then showed her support for her pal when Emma picked up the Best Actress Academy Award in 2017 for La La Land.

‘Ah Emma,’ Adele wrote in a post accompanied by a shot in which she was seen standing in front of an enormous TV wearing a nightdress as the actress collected her Oscar.

The Chatty Man star later praised the ‘lovely’ singer for taking on the honorable role in the intimate celebrations, which took place in Adele’s Los Angeles back garden in January 2018.

Last year, Alan revealed he had been keeping in touch with Adele by FaceTiming her during the first lockdown.

The TV funnyman admitted that the singer looked ‘amazing’ and he was desperate to try out her new diet.

When quizzed on whether he’d been chatting to Adele while speaking to host Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast, Alan said: ‘Oh yeah, we FaceTimed her the other day! And of course she looks amazing now, doesn’t she?’

While she may be one of the biggest names in modern music, Adele still hasn’t forgotten her roots, and keeps in touch with her friends from pre-fame.

Adele and Laura formed their friendship when they both attended the prestigious BRIT School, known for churning out a host of stars, and remain firm pals to this day despite a fleeting falling out which inspired Adele’s track My Same.

Laura has also revealed the singer was the first to spot that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis.

She explained that her concerned ‘spirit sister’ Adele quickly detected the signs of the serious mental illness in her after she gave birth to the singer’s godson.

The Someone Like You hitmaker spotted Laura’s symptoms – which can include hallucinations, depression and mania – while they were FaceTiming.
