Nearly a month after his baby girl had lost her battle with leukemia, the former contestant on ‘The Challenge’ says laying her to rest at the private ceremony was the ‘most difficult day’ of his life.
AceShowbiz –Ashley Cain has opened up about how he felt towards his daughter Azaylia’s funeral service. Despite describing the private ceremony as “perfect” in a social media comment, the season 33 contestant on “The Challenge” candidly admitted that it was “the hardest day” of his life.
On Sunday, May 23, the reality TV star left a comment on girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee‘s Instagram post that featured some photos from Azaylia’s funeral ceremony. “The hardest day in both of our lives,” he wrote. “But it was perfect. She would’ve been so proud as she watched over us from heaven. I love you and I miss you so much my angel! [love].”
Ashley Cain left a heartfelt comment on Safiyya Vorajee’s Instagram post.
Safiyya’s post offered images from the service which took place on Friday, May 21, in England. In the caption, she wrote a heartfelt message that read, “Azaylia Diamond Cain. The toughest day of my life, was waking up Friday morning my heart sank. It was the day I had to say goodbye to my baby on earth. I was scared & heartbroken to say the least.”
Dishing on the ceremony, Safiyya added, “Azaylia deserved to have the most beautiful send off we could give her, and we did that, we celebrated everything she loved because she is watching us, I wanted to do her proud.” She spilled that she “did a speech” and spoke how her baby daughter made her a woman and inspired her every day. She also explained that she “was so nervous” but she still managed to keep going through “the whole day.”
Elsewhere in the moving note, Safiyya went on to gush over Azaylia as saying, “Thank you for teaching me unconditional love and so much more I’m so proud of you Azaylia your mummys hero.” She added, “I knew you was watching and I [knew] you was proud. We will be together one day for eternity, sleep tight princess mummy loves you with all my heart.”
Hours earlier, Ashley also shared photos from the funeral on his Instagram account. The MTV alum captioned, “ADC. BEAUTIFUL. STRONG. COURAGEOUS. INSPIRATIONAL. FOREVER IN MY HEART [love].” He continued, “Friday was by far the most difficult day of my life. Laying to rest my beautiful daughter who had such a huge, positive and powerful impact on not only myself and my family, but the entire world. Rest in eternal paradise princess. Daddy loves you forever and always!”
Ashley announced Azaylia’s death on April 25, five months after he first announced that his late baby girl had been diagnosed with “a very rare and aggressive form” of leukemia. At the time, alongside a photo of himself hugging his late daughter, he wrote, “Rest In Paradise Princess. I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you in heaven again [love] #AzayliaDiamondCain.”
