Beck recently released a new mournful ballad, “Thinking About You,” his first new music of this year.

“There’s a crossroads/I’ve been standing on,” he sings melancholically in the new song. “It was just a back road/To Babylon/And she’s gone.”

“Thinking About You” features contributions from Blake Mills on guitar and mandolin, Justin Meldal-Johnsen on bass and Roger Manning on keyboards.

Beck has previously played the track at live shows, including his intimate performance at Lafayette in London last September.

In August, Beck is set to embark on a co-headlining tour of the U.S. with Phoenix. His most recent album was 2019’s Hyperspace.
