Bros' Matt Goss revealed to GMB he's returning home to the UK

‘It’s an exciting prospect to come home’: Bros singer Matt Goss, 52, reveals he is returning to live in the UK after residing in Las Vegas for a decade

Matt Goss has revealed he’s returning home to the UK after living alone in Las Vegas for ten years, where he’s enjoyed lucrative residencies at three casinos.

The Bros singer, 52, who lived with his mum Carol in the US before she died in 2014, told Good Morning Britain viewers on Friday: ‘I’m actually living in LA now, and I’ve done the new record and I’m gonna be heading back to the UK.’

Speaking via video link, he told presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon: ‘I can’t wait to put my boots on the ground I’ve definitely missed my home, you know? So It’s an exciting prospect to come home’.

UK return: Matt Goss, 52, has revealed he’s finally returning home to the UK after the loss of his late mum Carol, who lost her battle to cancer in 2014

Matt previously spoke to The Mirror about his decision to move, telling the newspaper: ‘I’m based in LA and will be coming back to the UK later this year and I’ll also be looking at homes to spend more time there.’

‘I really need to put my boots on the ground, definitely London. I’ve got to get back to London; my home.’

He explained that he considered Las Vegas his home when his mum lived there with him: ‘When I used to land my mum was the reason it felt like home. I’d make that phone call and she’d meet me at the hotel. That obviously doesn’t happen any more.’

The I Owe You Nothing hitmaker moved Carol to live with him in the US during her final days, which also involved him draining her lungs every day.

He also spoke about the group’s new 8-track album, Power, which is their first release since their 2013 album Push.

Brosmania swept the country in the late 80s after Matt and his twin brother Luke shot to No 2 in the charts with their single When Will I Be Famous?.

Their blonde good looks quickly earned them an army of fans – called Brosettes – who copied their style of ripped denim and red bandanas with the tops from bottles of Grolsch beer attached to their bootlaces.

Fans soon they were fainting in their thousands all over the world at the sight of the band as they scored legend status.

‘Exciting’: ‘It’s an exciting prospect to come home,’ he told presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon

Bros sold an estimated 16 million records, but things turned sour in 1992 as their fame began to wane and Luke, the drummer, decided he’d had enough.

Both twins have lived in America since the band dissolved, and since released two more albums.

The twins’ relationship has never been the same since the split, and viewers were privy to it in all its unfiltered glory in the 2018 documentary After The Screaming Stops.

‘It was like having therapy in front of the world,’ said Matt. ‘But it definitely humanised us in Britain.’

‘Ironically we had to go to another country to continue doing what we love. Luke has done so well with acting and I’m a singer, but people in the UK didn’t know us as human beings.’

‘So the documentary was a relief – people got to see our lives were far from normal. My social media went absolutely bonkers the day after it went on iPlayer – all these brilliant comments.

‘So many people have connected with it, and it’s allowed me to reconnect with the British public. I want to come home with all my heart and soul now.’
