We couldn’t help but wonder … Chris Noth, 66, will be officially reprise his famous role as Mr. Big in the new Sex and the City reboot titled And Just Like That, HBO Max confirmed on Wednesday

‘I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That…,’ executive producer Michael Patrick King in a statement. ‘How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex And The City story without our Mr. Big?’

Noth played Carrie Bradshaw’s main on-again-off-again-on-again love interest, Mr. Big throughout the series. As of the second film sequel, the pair were still married.

Earlier this week, DailyMail.com revealed that in addition to Big, John Corbett will reprise his role of Aiden (the one that got away for Carrie) and Cynthia Nixon’s character of Miranda will be joined by her on-screen husband Steve – played by David Eigenberg.

‘Viewers will definitely see Big, Aiden and Steve,’ a senior production source said.

‘I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That…,’ executive producer Michael Patrick King in a statement. ‘How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex And The City story without our Mr. Big?’

The source also revealed that famed costume designer Patricia Field – responsible for Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic wardrobe – will not be returning to the reboot.

‘Patricia Field is not coming back – she is focusing on Emily in Paris,’ the source said. ‘This is a first for the show as the clothes for the sixth season and two movies were all styled by Patricia.’

The reboot will follow three of the original stars, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate life in the Big Apple in their 50s.

Mr. and Mrs. Big: Noth played Carrie Bradshaw’s main on-again-off-again-on-again love interest, Mr. Big throughout the series. As of the second film sequel, the pair were still married

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, is not returning to the franchise for the limited series reboot.

According to a production source, Samantha Jones will be written out of the Sex and the City reboot in the same way that her real-life friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker ended.

The source said Samantha will be written off as ‘having had her friendship move in a different direction to the other three women.’

HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys told TVLine of the new changes,’ ‘[EP Sarah Jessica Parker and King] are trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York.’

Love triangle: Earlier this week, DailyMail.com revealed that in addition to Big, John Corbett will reprise his role of Aiden (the one that got away for Carrie) and Cynthia Nixon’s character of Miranda will be joined by her on-screen husband Steve – played by David Eigenberg

‘So it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.’

Bloys also explained the absence of Cattrall, though it is understood that she won’t be ‘killed off’ in the new series.

Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez will join the Cosmo-drinking trio for the reboot playing non-binary character Che Diaz.

Like the character, the Mexican-American actor, 45, also uses gender-neutral pronouns, and their character has been described as ‘a nonbinary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured.’

‘Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular,’ HBO Max added in a statement.

The casting news comes after it was reported that the reboot will feature at least three new black characters and a number of non-white writers working on the script in a call for more diversity on the HBO Max project.

‘Everyone at ‘And Just Like That’ is beyond thrilled that a dynamically talented actor such as Sara Ramirez has joined the Sex and the City family,’ executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement.

Newbie: Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez will join the as ‘a nonbinary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured.’

Titled after one of Carrie’s most quoted catch phrases, And Just Like That, the series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes. However, DailyMail.com’s source said that there is talk that there may even be more than one season.
