Coco Austin receives backlash for ‘inappropriate’ TikTok dance with seven-year-old daughter Chanel

Coco Austin took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a dance clip of her and daughter Chanel, which was swiftly slammed by critics as ‘inappropriate.’ 

The model, 44 – who also faced backlash for a Christmas video of Chanel twerking –  shared a post that saw her and the 7-year-old dancing side-by-side to the tune of a Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Boom Boom Pow’ remix. 

At one point in the video, Ice-T’s wife is seen lifting her leg toward Chanel, who then attempts to smack her mom’s butt twice.

‘Chanel always makes me do these weird dances I just go with it. I stole this from her phone to show you. Lol. #mommydaughter #dynamicduo,’ Coco captioned the video. 

The video received a mixed reaction, with many of her 3M followers not amused by the dance routine: ‘It is not appropriate for a little girl or her mother,’ one wrote.

Another one echoed the sentiment, writing: ‘How sad that that is the new training of parents to children, and worse, that is celebrated by the rest of society, that is why the world is the way it is.’

Yet another commentator simply wrote ‘inappropriate.’ 

Someone else deemed the performance to be ‘Cringy af.’ 

‘All a** zero brain,’ another follower wrote. 

However not everyone understood the criticism. ‘What’s weird about this? This is freaking adorable,’ a supporter wrote. 

‘You are raising an amazing daughter! You always look like you are having soo much fun and that you and Ice are fantastic parents!’ another added.

Austin has not yet responded to the criticism. However, this is not the first time she’s faced comments in regards to her parenting. 

Just a few months ago she defended Chanel after posting a video where she was twerking in Christmas pajamas.

After facing online criticism about how she parents her daughter, Coco attempted to get ahead of the comments by stating in her caption that her daughter ‘loves to joke.’

She shared a video of Chanel on her Instagram and explained in the caption that she and her family were in the middle of making a TikTok video when Chanel ran out to ‘bust a move.’

The caption read: ‘Gotta love family time! The adults in our family were doing a TikTok and Chanel runs out in the middle to bust a move to make us laugh.. She loves to joke.’

Last year she received more online criticism after she shared photos of herself in a G-string bikini while at a public pool with Chanel in the Bahamas. 

Coco faced a lot of scrutiny since she became a mom. In an interview with Tamron Hall, she said that she is constantly ‘underneath a microscope.’

During the interview, the Ice Loves Coco star broke down in tears over mom-shamers: ‘You don’t hear the goodness, you just hear a lot of bad. And I know I’m a good mother.’

The blonde bombshell had her daughter Chanel with rapper Ice-T in 2015 after the couple had been married for 13 years.

Chanel is Coco’s only child, while Ice-T, 64, has two other children from two previous relationships.

He has one other daughter, Letesha, and a son, Tracy, 31, who have both capitalized off of their father’s success and are now a part of the entertainment industry.

Coco got her start in the modeling industry when she was 18, and in 1997 she appeared on her first magazine cover for Swimwear Illustrated.

In 2011, Ice-T and Coco starred in their reality TV show Ice Loves Coco, which ran for three seasons.
