Katya is a mountain biking vampire witch from the future and Trixie Mattel is a legend, icon, and star. Together, these former RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 contestants are the personalities behind YouTube originals like World of Wonder’s UNHhhh and Netflix’s I Like to Watch.
I Like to Watch may be a Netflix original series, but it’s not available on the streaming platform.
Trixie Mattel and Katya are two former contestants from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’
These skinny legends had their start on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7, competing alongside Pearl, Ginger Minj, and Kennedy Davenport. They both returned for separate seasons of the spinoff, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars.
Outside of their appearances on the reality competition series, however, Trixie Mattel and Katya struck out on their own, creating the YouTube series UNHhhh and even publishing a book titled Trixie and Katya’s Guide to Modern Womanhood.
These drag queens also scored a partnership with Netflix. That’s the YouTube original series, titled I Like to Watch, where Trixie and Katya binge-watch series’ and films. This reaction show is not available for streaming on Netflix, but it is available on the video streaming platform, YouTube.
Trixie Mattel and Katya have their own YouTube series with Netflix, titled ‘I Like to Watch’
The first episode of I Like to Watch featured these drag performers reacting to the third season of The Crown. Since then, they’ve reacted to holiday movies during December and several horror movies and television shows during October.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic somewhat impacted the show, as for several months, Trixie Mattel and Katya watched shows from their respective homes. They reunited physically during 2021 for episodes about Selling Sunset and Operation Varsity Blues.
Some of their most popular episodes include the queens reacting to the Netflix documentary series, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, and the RuPaul-produced original AJ and the Queen.
Trixie Mattel and Katya also appear in the YouTube series ‘UNHhhh’
After stepping away from The Trixie and Katya Show, the drag performers reunited for episodes of UNHhhh, another YouTube series which talks about whatever these celebrities feel like. (Because it’s their show and not yours.)
“Not to sound corny, but [Trixie has] taught me the real power and value of forgiveness,” Katya said during an interview with the Shut Up Evan podcast. Trixie Mattel’s documentary, Moving Parts, gives somewhat of a behind-the-scenes look at what happened between Katya’s mental health break and her return to UNHhhh.
“[Trixie] just kind of waited it out,” she continued. “And forgave me. That is really incredible because I kind of don’t know what I would’ve done in her situation.”
I Like to Watch is now streaming on Netflix’s YouTube channel. UNHhhh is also available for binge-watching.
