Eamonn Holmes has candidly confessed he doesn’t know how to tie shoelaces.

The 61 year old This Morning presenter admitted he regrets not learning the skill and, as a result, only wears slip-on shoes.

Eamonn, who recently said he and wife Ruth Langsford have been getting on with their lives after being replaced on This Morning, made the reveal as he confessed it was due to him being spoiled as a child.

The Irish star explained how his mum Josie always tied his laces growing up, meaning he never learned.

“Irish mammies have a lot to answer for… doing everything for their sons in particular.”

The TV star also confessed he relies on his beloved wife Ruth, 60, for a number of things.

Eamonn gushed over his wife of ten years as he said: “She loves being domestic and I’ve never seen anyone with the energy she has.

“She’s nobody’s pushover. She is the boss in our relationship.”

Meanwhile, Ruth previously revealed she enjoys looking after her husband as she said: “Having respect is really important in a relationship. It’s nice to be a couple, but we are individual people.

“Eamonn and I can have big rows and argue, then 10 minutes later we’re laughing about something.

“It has been a long and happy relationship, but we have our moments.”

The couple were recently axed from their Friday hosting slots on This Morning and replaced by Alison Hammond, who reportedly initially turned down the gig, and Dermot O’Leary.

Eamonn and Ruth will still appear on This Morning, but will host the show during the summer holidays and other breaks.

The news was announced by ITV in November as Managing Director, ITV Daytime, Emma Gormley said: “We are delighted that Alison and Dermot will be joining the main presenting family on This Morning.

“Alison has provided some of the most memorable moments on the show in recent times and teamed up with the brilliant Dermot we think they are a great pairing in addition to our fabulous presenting line up of Phillip and Holly and Eamonn & Ruth.”
