Ferne McCann has confirmed her new romance with Jack Padgett and admits she’s relieved to no longer go through the ‘struggles of single life.’

The First Time Mum star, 30, told MailOnline she is officially off the market, after being pictured passionately kissing model Jack in South Africa last month.

In an exclusive interview, Ferne, revealed she’s ‘really excited’ about her relationship and has enjoyed saying goodbye to life as a single woman in lockdown.

‘I am really, really excited’: Ferne McCann has confirmed her new romance with Jack Padgett and admits she’s relieved to no longer go through the ‘struggles of single life’

She told MailOnline: ‘I have met someone. But it is early days and I don’t want to divulge into too much information.

‘We will see. I am excited, I am really, really excited about how this will go and how it will develop.

‘Obviously I was single in lockdown so I knew the struggles of single life – it was like do you go on the apps? Am I going to meet someone randomly?’

Ferne, who’s a mum to daughter Sunday, three, has been single since May when she and New York-based boyfriend Albie Gibbs went their separate ways.

The former TOWIE star split from Sunday’s father Arthur Collins, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for GBH and ABH, during her pregnancy.

Ferne told MailOnline in October last year she had been using celebrity-dating app Raya to meet her next partner – after turning 30 months earlier and asking herself: ‘Am I going to be single forever?’

She said at the time: ‘Turning 30… I had that whole moment where I’m still single… as a female, when you’re single at 30 you really start to question yourself and you think “am I ever going to find anyone?” This isn’t what I planned.’

Ferne’s single days are finally over after Jack joined her in South Africa last year, with the pair pictured hugging and kissing during a trip to Boulders Beach in Cape Town.

The TV star confirmed she will return to ITVBe later this year with the seventh series of her reality show First Time Mum – but the pandemic has left her unsure of when she will start filming.

She said: ‘The answer is yes we will see First Time Mum return back to our screens, which I’m really proud of.

‘I got the news coming into 2021 and it’s a show I’m proud of that is close to my heart because I started it when I was pregnant and the fan base and support I have had from the viewers, people have seen me learn how to become a mum and have seen Sunday develop.

‘I don’t know when I am starting filming again as everything in life is a bit up in the air but that’s definitely something to look forward to.’

Ferne will put her culinary skills to the test as a contestant on Celebrity Best Home Cook, which starts on Tuesday night.

The BBC1 show challenges those taking part to create homely meals and impress judges and cooking experts Mary Berry, 85, Angela Hartnett, 52, and Chris Bavin, 40.

Due to Mary being in her 80s, she will give her critique from a balcony, a distance that means she will stay safe while still taking part in the celebrity series.

Mary being separated from the contestants didn’t make it any less nerve-wracking, with Ferne admitting she felt pressurised to perform well for the former Bake Off judge.

‘The pressure is on’: Ferne will put her culinary skills to the test as a contestant on Celebrity Best Home Cook, which starts tonight, and is judged by former Bake Off star Mary Berry

She said: ‘Best Home Cook was great. It was an amazing opportunity, I feel like it was a dream come true because I really love home cooking and to do it on a show and to cook for Mary Berry… it was so fab, I had a ball.

‘I thought I was a relatively good cook walking into this competition but it was a whole different ball game. Now I have to cook for Mary Berry and she is not only going to be eating my food, she is going to be judging it. The pressure is on.

‘She is an absolute legend and a national treasure – I have grown up watching her on TV so I was somewhat star-struck. There were a lot of added pressures to this.

‘When I got over the nerves it was a real privilege, when Mary gives you a good comment, I cannot tell you, it is the best feeling in the whole entire world.’
