Gaz Beadle shares update on wife Emma as she undergoes surgery to fix valve and three holes in heart

Gaz Beadle (Gary) has shared an update on his wife Emma McVey after she was rushed into hospital for open heart surgery.

The Geordie Shore star told fans that his wife was awake and out of surgery, and everything had "gone to plan".

Earlier this week, the former reality TV favourite opened up on feeling "very stressed" while waiting for updates from the doctor, as he remained in hospital to support his wife.

Finally able to post some good news, Gaz, 34, shared his relief at Emma's successful surgery alongside a snap from the hospital.

"Hey guys just to let you know @emma_jane1392 surgery went amazing and all to plan," he began.

"They fixed the valve without having to have a replacement and the large hole was fixed and also the other 2 smaller holes, she is awake and in recovery…

"In a lot of pain but talking and good… now it's about recovery and making sure she gets back to full fitness over the next few months.

The reality TV star added: "Thank you to everyone who has been messaging."

Emma, 30, previously opened up on her health issues more than a year ago in 2021, as the brunette beauty revealed she had been diagnosed with three large holes in her heart.

The abnormal heart defect required open heart surgery, but the star had to wait until her condition had progressively worsened.

Gaz took to Instagram earlier this week after a "very crazy very stressful very emotional day," to reveal that it was finally time Emma to go on the operating table.

The emotional reality favourite told his fans it would be "a big day for our family".

Alongside a snap of their song Chester, four, wearing Spiderman pyjamas and playing with his toys, Gaz admitted they had a long road ahead as a family, especially because Emma was such an amazing mum.

"You know what, shout out to all the mums honestly," he began.

"Emma was literally waiting to go in at 7am this morning after we dropped her last night and her only worry was the kids were ok and they had found their treasure hunt surprises which she has planned every day for them…

"Mums are built different nothing else matters as long as their kids are happy."

Gaz continued: "I will hold the fort and update you all soon as I hear from the doctors that all has gone well. Going to be a hard 2/3 month with recovery but we got this as a family…."

He finished his note by thanking fans for their messages.

Gaz and Emma, who share children Chester, four, and Primrose, three, together, got married in 2021.
