‘I was so nauseous backstage’: Gigi Hadid reveals she found out she was pregnant during New York Fashion Week and mum Yolanda had to keep bringing her snacks between shows

Gigi Hadid has revealed she found out she was pregnant the day before she walked in a Tom Ford fashion show in February 2020.

The model, 25, became a mother for the first time when she welcomed her daughter, whose name she has not made public, last September with Zayn Malik.

Gigi was asked by a fan on Twitter whether she knew she was pregnant when she walked for designer Simon Porte Jacquemus in January 2020.

They wrote: ‘When did you walk for jacquemus, did you already know that you were pregnant? or you only knew after?’

The star responded: ‘Yes, I found out the day before the Tom Ford show. I was so nauseous backstage but I learned I could kinda control it if I continuously ate, so my mom would pack me snacks before each show. Bless.’

The fashion show in question was the designer’s autumn/winter 2020 show and took place at Milk Studios in Hollywood.

Gigi was also asked what she craved during her pregnancy, answering: ‘It went it waves. Everything bagels/ extra cream cheese [bagel] triple chunk brownies for breakfast- sourdough toast & tomato olive oil salad w lots of salt and pepper lol … and Z’s ribs w fries’.

She added: ‘Also arugula salads !!! But during fashion month in Europe it was hard to find bagels so I ate mostly bread & Dutch cheese (except for in London, Taylor gave me bagels) Backstage at Burberry was the hardest day with the nausea, I remember.’

It has been reported that Gigi is a ‘natural’ at motherhood, as sources claimed being a mother comes to the model ‘with such ease’.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, an insider said: ‘Motherhood has come to her with such ease. She is such a natural.’

The source also revealed Gigi and Zayn are ‘so in love’, and have strengthened their bond more than ever thanks to their new arrival.

Gigi wrote: ‘I found out the day before the Tom Ford show. I was so nauseous backstage but I learned I could kinda control it if I continuously ate’

Cravings: Gigi was also asked what she craved during her pregnancy, answering: ‘It went it waves’

They added’: ‘[Gigi and Zayn] are so in love and having a baby together has brought them even closer.

‘They share the same values when it comes to culture, family and parenting. Gigi and Zayn both have very close relationships with their families and raising their daughter with that same loving environment is very important to them.’  

Zayn, who recently released his latest album Nobody Is Listening, has dated Gigi on and off since late 2015.

Zayn announced their baby news on Twitter, writing: ‘Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful. To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task.

‘The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x.’

Nobody Is Listening marks his third solo album, following Icarus Falls in 2018 and Mind of Mine in 2016.
