EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis, 27, and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice, 31, won the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, with many fans noticing their incredible chemistry. The victory was also a momentous one for the deaf community, as Rose was the first deaf dancer to appear on the show.

Giovanni and Rose’s close bond continues to draw fans in, as it beautifully translates to their time on the dance floor.

The stars are currently touring with their fellow finalists and other cast members on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

So far, the pair have won the competition night after night thanks to their notable popularity.

Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine, Giovanni was quizzed on his chemistry with Rose.

“It’s about respect,” he explained. “From there you build a friendship, and you have fun.”

Rose seems to be having an absolute ball on the tour, admitting that while the competition was “full-on”, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She said: “It’s funny, Strictly is so full-on, but when it stops it becomes… boring.

“If they’d asked me to do another ten weeks, I’d have said yes.”

The star was also asked whether she would like to keep her dancing in the future.

She replied: “I hope so. I have to work out how, but I love it so much I don’t want to stop.”

Since their iconic win, Giovanni has made an incredible gesture to Rose by immortalising the moment on his body forever.

The dancer recently revealed his tribute to Rose via his Instagram story, where he showed off the new tattoo.

In the picture, his freshly-inked wrist featured a Glitterball trophy with ‘SCD’ (Strictly Come Dancing) written through it and two shining stars on either side.

Written below the glitterball was the date “18-12-2021”, which was when the pair were crowned the winners of the Strictly final.

Rose, who is a user of British Sign Language, provided a lot of positive representation for the deaf and disabled community on the show last year.

During her time on Strictly, she cleared up the misconception that deaf people are unable to enjoy music, explaining that her hearing aid allows her to “hear the beat”.

The star also shared how she can “feel vibrations” and “count in her head” in order to keep in time with her partner.

The Strictly Live Tour kicked off in Birmingham on January 20, with a total of 33 performances scheduled around the country for the coming weeks.

A number of stars have been unable to take part in the tour, most recently including Tilly Ramsay’s partner Nikita Kuzmin, who had to isolate after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Tonight, the Strictly Come Dancing live tour continues in the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
