The 56th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards airs on April 18, 2021 and fans across the country are excited to watch all their favorite country stars take the stage.
While Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton lead the ACM nominations with six each, other country favorites like Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Ashley McBryde are up for awards in multiple categories as well (via Taste of Country). Lady A, who changed their name from Lady Antebellum in June 2020, is also in the running for a coveted ACM award this year, as they’re nominated for Group of the Year alongside Little Big Town, Old Dominion, The Cadillac Three, and The Highwomen.
Lady A – composed of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelly, and Dave Haywood – first made a splash in the country music scene in 2008 with their critically-acclaimed debut album, Lady Antebellum. Since then, the trio has made countless appearances on shows including, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Good Morning America, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and have also appeared in television specials and documentaries including, CMA Country Christmas, A&E Biography: Kenny Rogers, Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, and more (via IMDb).
Dave Haywood has built up quite the fortune
Per Celebrity Net Worth, Dave Haywood, who is a multi-instrumentalist (he plays guitar, piano, and mandolin) and also sings, is worth about $25 million.
Haywood’s fortune shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, as Lady A has been one of the more popular and successful country groups of the past two decades. On top of sold-out tours and best-selling albums, the band also had a residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada for the greater part of 2019. “The theater is just so much fun,” Haywood said (via People). “It provides a whole new way for us to approach a Lady Antebellum show, and I hope the fans feel like it’s a totally different experience, as well.”
From the sound of it, Lady A had a blast being able to bring “their kind of Vegas” to the iconic city, and will cherish their time in Sin City forever. In an emotional Instagram post at the end of their residency, the band wrote, “#OurKindOfVegas will forever hold a special place in our hearts! We’ve been a band for 13 years now and never would we have thought a headlining Las Vegas residency would be a part of our journey. We’re forever grateful to everyone that came out to a show and can’t wait for the next adventure!!”
