‘I regret wearing this!’ Holly Willoughby is left mortified after being compared to a whale’s penis in her £120 pink cashmere jumper
She’s known for being a style icon, with her outfits on This Morning often selling out online.
Yet Holly Willoughby’s fashion sense came into question during Wednesday’s episode as she found herself being compared to a whale’s penis.
The presenter, 40, was chatting to Phillip Schofield about a new theory that the famed picture of the Loch Ness Monster was in fact a picture of a whale’s genitalia, when hilarity ensued.

The gaffe came as the pair discussed a paper in the Archives of Natural History that discussed if the Nessie ‘neck’ is really just a whale penis.
During the chat, Phil began: ‘Both Holly and I, and the team, have been Googling “whale penises”.
‘The mystery of the Loch Ness monster has apparently, finally been solved because that very famous picture actually looks like a whale penis’.
Having a whale of a time: Waving her arm in the air to mimic the photo, Holly squealed, ‘I’m regretting wearing this pink jumper not going to lie!’
The theory focused on the famous black and white photograph of Nessie, reportedly taken by surgeon Robert Kenneth Wilson in the 1930s.
However, the picture in question was proved to be hoax back in 1994 after Christopher Spurling, the stepson of Maramaduke Wetherell, admitted to being involved in its production.
The study suggested that many accounts of large mysterious sea creatures with a ‘serpent-like tail’ were in fact the ‘snake-like’ penis of a large baleen whale.
They added that other accounts could be attributed to the male members of certain whale species, which can be at least 1.8 metres long and are sometimes spotted rising from the water during mating.
