Holly confessed: “It's bittersweet as next week I'm celebrating my big 4-0 and tomorrow night would have been my big birthday party that I had to cancel!

“So it will look very different. But as long as I've got a cake and a glass in my hand I'll be fine.”

Phil was on hand to console Holly, and he quickly told her to “have a Wotsit,” while adding: “It'll be fine.”

Holly started as out as a model, but hasn’t looked back since she made her television debut on CITV’s S Club TV in 2000.

It wasn’t long before ITV bosses realised they were on to a winner with the bubbly blonde. In 2004, she was booked to front Ministry Of Mayhem (later renamed Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown) alongside her good friend Stephen Mulhern.

It was on the Saturday Showdown set that Holly first met her producer husband Dan Baldwin.

Although, according to the Brighton-born star, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. “He’d come from MTV and he was very cool for school,” she explained. “He looked at me like I was this wally of a person. I thought, ‘Oh my God, he hates me. He just thinks he’s really cool.’”

The pair got to know each other as friends for six months before becoming an item, later marrying in 2007.

Holly has described the moment she realised that Dan was more than a pal, stating, “We were in the bar and we cheers-ed over a glass of champagne and I looked at him and it was like, ‘Oh my God, I fancy him.’ In that second I just knew, it was like a little sparkle."
